Description
This syllabus covers the requirements of:
The International Safety Management (ISM) Code that companies establish safety objectives as described in section 1.2 of the ISM Code, that companies develop, implement and maintain a safety management system which include functional requirements as listed in section 1.4 of the ISM Code; latest amendments made to ISM code pertaining to Risk Assessment and Just Culture.
STCW Code Section A-VIII/2; Section B-VIII/2; Section A-VI/1; Table A-VI/1-4
Objective
On completion of the course:
Participants will be aware of the ability of the safety Health quality and environmental management system to meet the general safety management objectives such as :Safe Practices in ship operation with safe working environment; Assess all identified risks to its ships, personnel, environment with established appropriate safeguards ;and improve continuously the safety management skills of personnel ashore and aboard, including preparing for emergencies related both to safety and to environmental protection.
Participants having gained sea-going experience and training shall be able to handle a ship with due regard to all the identified Hazards and environmental aspect thereby preventing the corresponding risk to happen thus protecting the entire stakeholders from losses and damages arising from their occurrences..
